_the AT HOME IN THE TATRAS project is a survey of the opinions and ideas visitors and local residents have about the development of the High Tatras and podhorie area. Through creative activities and intervention in public spaces, we collected public opinions on the situation in the region.

_the project is about the mutual respect between people and nature, as well as between themselves (local residents and visitors in the Tatras), and about respectful urbanism within the territory of the national park and its architecture. It is about the Tatras and the fact that they cannot prosper without locals and without tourism.

_the impact tourism has on the Tatras must be identified and new approaches must be found to mitigate it, so that nature, local residents and the territory do not suffer. Thoughtful urban planning incorporates nature directly into the streets and public spaces, and brings development to the entire region. Small interventions often contribute to solving problems, they consolidate the territory and improve communication routes.

_the mutual connection between residents and the territory supports the creation of a community and strengthens the bond residents have with the area in which they live and work, as well as those who only visit it.

_the project took place at several locations and events as well as online on its website. After an analysis of collected data, we will gradually publish the results of this survey. The information we collect from the public, as well as the materials used, will be part of the upcoming art exhibition in several cultural institutions in the region.

_el proyecto EN CASA EN LAS TATRAS es una encuesta de las opiniones e ideas que los visitantes y los residentes locales tienen sobre el desarrollo del región de Altas Tatras. A través de actividades creativas e intervención en espacios públicos populares, recogimos opiniones públicas sobre la situación actual.

_el proyecto trata sobre el respeto mutuo entre las personas y la naturaleza, así como entre ellos mismos (residentes locales y visitantes en las Tatras), y sobre el urbanismo respetuoso dentro del territorio del parque nacional y su arquitectura. El enfoque está en las montañas de las Tatras y en el hecho de que el región no puede prosperar sin lugareños y sin turismo.

_hay que identificar el impacto que tiene el turismo en las Tatras y encontrar nuevos enfoques para mitigarlo, para que la naturaleza, los residentes locales y el territorio no sufran. La planificación urbana reflexiva incorpora la naturaleza directamente en las calles y espacios públicos, y trae desarrollo a toda la región. Las pequeñas intervenciones suelen contribuir a solucionar problemas, consolidan el territorio y mejoran las vías de comunicación.

_la conexión mutua entre los residentes y el territorio favorece la creación de una comunidad y fortalece el vínculo que tienen los residentes con la zona en la que viven y trabajan, así como con quienes solo la visitan.

_el proyecto se llevó a cabo en varios lugares y eventos, así como online en su página web. Después de la análisis iremos publicando los resultados de la encuesta. La información que recopilemos del público, así como los materiales utilizados también serán parte de una exhibición artísticas que llevaremos a varias instituciones culturales en el región.

With this object, we sought to generate a focal point for the different activities that happened around it. The objective was to give a project its identity and physical presence in space. The project took place in the mountain that impacted us at the time giving it a form of a refuge that visitors can use during their long walks to rest and contemplate. A pause in their journey.

In order to respect the natural environment we chose to create a permeable space made of environmentally conscious materials.

It is a woven object made with more than 500 meters of rope intertwined in wooden frames. Together with the sun, they generate an attractive play of light and shadow.

The decision to use the technique that allows transparency was made with the aim of inviting and letting the natural environment enter the object and fill it in. We created a situation where the designers chose the form, and nature of the content.

Its immateriality allows it to see and be seen from any point, without losing the characteristic of container shelter, as well as being crossed from different points, diluting the limit of inside / outside.

It was built in removable modules since it will be located in different parts of the mountains of Slovakia throughout 2022. The object is easy to disassemble and transport and thus enhances the idea of reuse, adaptation, and sustainability.

Con este objeto efímero se buscó generar un punto focal para las diferentes actividades que sucedían a su alrededor. El objetivo era dotar de identidad y presencia física al espacio. El proyecto se llevó a cabo en la montañas, dándole una forma de refugio para que los visitantes luego de sus largas caminatas pudieran descansar y contemplar sus alrededores. Una pausa en su viaje.

Para respetar el entorno natural, optamos por crear un espacio permeable hecho de materiales respetuosos con el medio ambiente. Es un objeto tejido hecho con más de 500 metros de cuerda entrelazados en marcos de madera. Junto con el sol, generan un atractivo juego de luces y sombras.

La decisión de utilizar la técnica que permite la transparencia se tomó con el objetivo de invitar y dejar que el entorno natural entrara en el objeto y lo llenara. Creamos una situación en la que los diseñadores eligieron la forma y la naturaleza del contenido.

Su inmaterialidad le permite ver y ser visto desde cualquier punto, sin perder la característica de refugio contenedor, además de ser atravesado desde diferentes puntos, diluyendo el límite de adentro/afuera.

Fue construido en módulos removibles ya que estará ubicado en diferentes partes de las montañas de Eslovaquia a lo largo de 2022. El objeto es fácil de desarmar y transportar y así potencia la idea de reutilización, adaptación y sustentabilidad.
