_at the tail end of October, a former train manufacturing site in Berlin was home to ‘APNEA’, a unique ten-day exhibition. It was Pejac’s fourth self-produced solo show that saw the Spanish artist push his exposition practice to a new level. With large numbers of people from different corners of the globe in attendance, especially on the opening night, APNEA was sold out and ended up being an all-around success.
_having at his disposal eight different rooms and spaces, Pejac put on display over forty new artworks that literally came in all shapes and sizes. The smallest object that was part of APNEA, was a pencil sharpener containing the image of a prehistoric cave painting that could be observed only through a magnifying lens. By contrast, the largest installation on the show was an enormous half-sunk paper boat with origami seagulls circling above, preying on cargo washed overboard.
_chilly temperatures in the German capital didn’t discourage anyone from going out to attend the show. Once inside the erstwhile factory, visitors plunged right into the carefully arranged visual spectacle that could be considered an imaginary world in its own right. And yet, many of the works alluded unambiguously to two of the most pressing real-world problems: environmental pollution and climate change.

__a fines de octubre, un antiguo sitio de fabricación de trenes en Berlín fue el hogar de 'APNEA', una exposición única de diez días. Fue la cuarta exposición individual de producción propia de Pejac que vio al artista español llevar su práctica de exposición a un nuevo nivel. Con la asistencia de un gran número de personas de diferentes rincones del mundo, especialmente en la noche de apertura, APNEA se agotó y terminó siendo un éxito total.
_teniendo a su disposición ocho salas y espacios diferentes, Pejac exhibió más de cuarenta nuevas obras de arte que, literalmente, venían en todas las formas y tamaños. El objeto más pequeño que formaba parte de APNEA, era un sacapuntas que contenía la imagen de una pintura rupestre prehistórica que sólo podía observarse a través de una lupa. Por el contrario, la instalación más grande de la muestra era un enorme barco de papel medio hundido con gaviotas de origami dando vueltas por encima, acechando la carga arrojada por la borda.
_las bajas temperaturas en la capital alemana no desanimaron a nadie a salir para asistir al espectáculo. Una vez dentro de la antigua fábrica, los visitantes se sumergieron directamente en el espectáculo visual cuidadosamente organizado que podría considerarse un mundo imaginario por derecho propio. Y, sin embargo, muchas de las obras aluden sin ambigüedades a dos de los problemas más apremiantes del mundo real: la contaminación ambiental y el cambio climático.
